The People's Alliance Presses The Risk Of Cheating In Counting Election Votes
JAKARTA - The People's Alliance for Democracy initiated by Aldera is committed to overseeing the 2024 Election by calculating the results which will be announced no later than 7 days after the voting.
Chairman of the Aldera Management Board, Teddy Wibisana emphasized that the slow time for calculations has the potential to create loopholes for fraud. Because of this, the timing of the recapitulation and announcement of the results obtained is crucial in the implementation of a democratic party.
"Voting and counting is very crucial, towards determining the election results. Various election frauds can occur, and therefore it needs strict guard," said Teddy during the declaration of the 2024 Election Guard for Democracy in Central Jakarta, Friday, July 14.
According to him, the determination of election results is governed by provisions, Regency/Municipal KPU determines the results of the votes acquired by political parties for candidates for Regency/Municipal DPRD members no later than twenty days after voting day.
Meanwhile, the Provincial KPU determines the results of the votes acquired by political parties for candidates for Provincial DPRD members no later than twenty-five days after voting day.
As for the national election results and the results of the votes acquired by Candidate Pairs, the votes acquired by political parties for candidates for DPR members, and the votes acquired for candidates for DPD members no later than thirty-five days after voting day.
The results of the 2024 election calculations published by the People's Alliance for Democracy will later become a comparison from the official recapitulation of the General Elections Commission (KPU).

"It is impossible to match the official institution (KPU), but we also have valid results. We are not a competitor to the KPU, but we are a comparator," said Teddy.
Meanwhile, General Secretary of Aldera, Valentina Sagala said, the longer the vote-counting process, the greater the risk of fraud.
The KPU is said to be unable to quickly and accurately announce and determine the election results. Bawaslu did not announce the results of the vote count, which it should have been able to do. This resulted in the absence of parties who announced the election results quickly and accurately.
In fact, said Valentina, the election results could already be known at every polling station that very day, or at least H+1. All polling stations already have election results which are then followed by the next stage, namely recapitulation.
For this reason, the People's Alliance for Democracy views that accurate and fast monitoring is necessary to prevent the risk of fraud in election vote counting.
"Information technology systems should be able to be used to facilitate the counting of election votes. For this reason, we from Aldera provide a system for collecting, verifying, inputting, recapitulating, and releasing the election vote recapitulation results based on information technology," said Valentina.
"We are confident that the announcement of the tally for the 2024 election tally can be made as soon as four days and no later than seven days from voting day," he added.
He is also optimistic that he can do this by learning from past experiences. The reason is, if the announcement of the results of the vote count takes longer, there will be a very high possibility of fraud.
