Knowing The Understanding And Goals Of The Agricultural Census In Indonesia Which Will Be Held Starting June 1
YOGYAKARTA The government will hold the Agricultural Census from June 1 to July 30, 2023. For this reason, President Jokowi asked all stakeholders in the agricultural sector to help make the program a success. Then, what is the understanding and purpose of the Agricultural Census in Indonesia?
The Agricultural Census is one of the censuss held by the Government through the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) which is held once every 10 years, precisely every year which ends with the number 3. Meanwhile, in 2023, the Agricultural Census will be the seventh census to be held.
This census has been carried out by BPS from 1963 until now and is held in accordance with the Law of the Republic of Indonesia No. 16 of 1997 on Statistics.

As for this year, the 2023 Agricultural Census or ST2023 was designed by the President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo on May 15, 2023, at the State Palace, Jakarta.

The purpose of holding the 2023 Agricultural Census is to provide data related to agricultural structures, particularly for the smallest administrative units; providing data that can be used as a benchmark for agricultural statistics today; and providing a sample framework for agricultural surveys.
Later ST2023 will include seven sub-sectors ranging from food crops, horticulture, plantations, livestock, fisheries, forestry, and agricultural services. In its implementation, all agricultural business actors in Indonesia will be recorded. The government will deploy 190 thousand officers in various parts of Indonesia to record agricultural business actors.
