Ramayana Tarakan Burglars Arrested By Police

The Tarakan Police Team, North Kalimantan arrested a thief with the initials EF (40) who broke into an all-time shop (Toserba) Ramayana Tarakan.

"The perpetrator of the theft with the initials EF (40) that occurred on Jalan Gajah Mada in the Ramayana Department of the Store on April 30, 2023," said Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Tarakan Police, Iptu Randhya Sakhthika Putra, quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, June 6.

The EF perpetrator admitted that he entered the shop building with Ramayana by lifting the sliding door which was only lifted up a knee, the perpetrator easily entered and placed his sandals in front of the sliding door.

After entering through the ground floor, the perpetrator began to take it randomly. After returning from the second floor to the first floor to look for some items that he would bring, and found eight charity boxes arranged," he said.

The perpetrators also looked for ways to open the charity box, using his motorbike key and one plier that he got around the location.

After taking all the stolen items and trying to secure themselves, the perpetrator saw three Ramayana security officers and finally the perpetrator fled and climbed up on the ceiling.

"The perpetrator was in the ceiling for one night, finally came out on May 2, 2023. He fired from the ceiling behind the Ramayana shop," he said.

Furthermore, the perpetrator did not have time to take away some of the stolen items because they fled after being seen by officers.

"It happened April 30, 2023 at around 04.00 WITA. When the reporter Fadli changed shifts with his partner seeing sandals under the back door of Ramayana. The reporter was suspicious, then the reporter and two of his colleagues waited at the door until the EF came out," said Randhya.

When the EF came out, Fadli and his partner arrested the reported party but the reported managed to escape and fled to the ceiling.

The reporter and his partner lost track. Due to this incident, Ramayana suffered damage to the door, rack glass, ceiling and light steel.

The incident was reported to the police until the perpetrator was arrested. A number of evidences were successfully secured, including cash worth IDR 3.597 million.
