Meet Megawati To Discuss Coalition, Zuhas Arriving At PDIP Headquarters
JAKARTA - Chairman of the National Mandate Party (PAN) Zulkifli Hasan (Zulhas) arrived at the PDI-P DPP Office, Central Jakarta, Friday, to stay in touch and discuss exploring political cooperation.
Zulhas, who wore a blue party uniform, arrived at the PDI-P DPP office at around 14:40 WIB accompanied by PAN Deputy General Chair Yandri Susanto, PAN Secretary General Eddy Soeparno.
Then, Deputy Chairperson of PAN Viva Yoga Mauladi, General Treasurer of DPP PAN Totok Daryanto, Chairman of DPP PAN Saleh Partaonan Daulay, to Chairman of the DKI Jakarta PAN Regional Leadership Council (DPW) Eko Hendro Purnomo or Eko Patrio.
The arrival of Zulhas and his entourage was greeted directly by the Secretary General of the PDI-P Hasto Kristiyanto, Chairman of the PDI-P Election Winning Body (Bappilu) Bambang Wuryanto or Pacul, to the Chairman of the PDIP DPP for Honorary Affairs Komarudin Watubun.
"Welcome," said Hasto welcoming Zulhas and his PAN entourage.
They then seemed to shake hands with each other, then entered the building and climbed the elevator.
A moment later, PDIP DPP Chair Puan Maharani arrived at the PDI-P DPP Office, then PDI-P General Chair Megawati Soekarnoputri.
Other PDI-P elites who appeared to be present included the Chairperson of the PDI-P DPP as well as the Minister of Law and Human Rights (Menkumham) Yosanna H. Laoly, Chair of the PDI-P faction of the Indonesian House of Representatives Utut Adianto.
Furthermore, the Deputy Secretary General of the PDI-P DPP Arif Wibowo, Chairman of the PDI-P DPP Djarot Saiful Hidayat, Chairman of the Volunteer Coordination Team for Winning the PDI-P Presidential Election Ahmad Basarah, Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung.
It was also seen that the PDI-P presidential candidate and Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo were also present.
Based on previous reports, PAN Chairman Zulkifli Hasan said that the friendship with the PDI-P was intended to discuss exploring coalition cooperation and the presidential candidate for the 2024 presidential election.
"Officially, this is the first time we (PAN) have met Mrs. Megawati to conduct talks on exploring the cooperation of the 2024 presidential election coalition," Zulkifli Hasan said in a statement received in Jakarta, Friday.
To note, registration for presidential and vice-presidential candidates is scheduled for October 19 to November 25, 2023.

Based on Law Number 7 of 2017 concerning Elections (UU Pemilu), pairs of presidential and vice presidential candidates are proposed by political parties or coalitions of political parties participating in the election who meet the requirements for obtaining seats of at least 20 percent of the total seats in the DPR or obtaining 25 percent of valid votes nationally in the previous election for members of the DPR.
Currently, there are 575 seats in parliament, so that the pairs of presidential and vice-presidential candidates in the 2024 presidential election must have at least 115 seats in the DPR RI. It is also possible that the candidate pairs can be promoted by political parties or a combination of political parties participating in the 2019 Election with a total valid vote acquisition of at least 34,992,703 votes.
