Denies Leaking State Secrets About Constitutional Court Decision, Denny Indrayana: I Carefully Choose The Phrase 'Getting Information'
JAKARTA - Constitutional law expert Denny Indrayana denied allegations of leaking state secrets after mentioning the Constitutional Court (MK) regarding the general election system (election). He said the information he submitted was not from the institution."That's why I can emphasize that there is no leaking of state secrets in the messages I convey to the public," Denny said in a written statement he signed in Melbourne, Tuesday, May 30.Denny also said that he did not use the phrase '... get a leak' when delivering his statement. "Please listen carefully. I have carefully chosen the phrase '... get the information," he said."Not... 'got a leak'. No verdict was leaked because we all know that there has been no decision. I wrote '... the Constitutional Court will decide'. Still, it has not been decided," continued Denny.He also did not use the phrase 'information from A1'. Denny then mentioned Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Mahfud MD who often used it when he was tweeting a statement."Because A1 info contains the meaning of confidential information, often intelligence. I use the information phrase 'people I really trust the credibility'," he said.Even though it is now in the spotlight, Denny feels the need to spread the information he received. He said what he did was a form of public supervision so that the Constitutional Court was careful in deciding the strategic case.Moreover, the information he got was from a credible and trustworthy source."Remember that the Constitutional Court's decision is direct and binding and there are no other legal remedies at all (finals and binding). Therefore, the space to keep the Constitutional Court in order to decide carefully, precisely, and wisely is only before the verdict is read out in front of an open trial," explained Denny.Previously reported, Denny Indrayana claimed to have received information about the decision of the Constitutional Court (MK) regarding the legislative election system which will return to a closed proportional system or party voting."This morning I received important information. Meanwhile, the Constitutional Court (MK) has received a request for a judicial review of Article 168 paragraph (2) of the Election Law related to an open proportional system registered with case registration number 114/PUU-XX/2022 on November 14, 2022.The six applicants are Demas Brian Wicaksono (Permohon I), Yuwono Pintadi (Pemohon II), Fahrurrozi (Pemohon III), Ibnu Rachman Jaya (Permohon IV), Riyanto (Pemohon V), and Nono Marijono (Pemohon VI).
