KN SAR Abimanyu Saves 13 Passengers Of KM Managed By Engine In Waters Of Pulau Tiga Maluku Tengah
AMBON - The Abimanyu SAR State Ship used by rescue teams from the Maluku Basarnas Search and Rescue Office to carry out SAR operations managed to save 13 passengers and crew of KM Terjana who were adrift in the sea due to experiencing engine failure."According to a report by a family named Bernard, KM Terjana departed from Ambon City to Manipa Island, West Seram Regency at around 03.00 WIT in the morning," said Head of the Maluku Basarnas Search and Rescue Office Mustari in Ambon, Antara, Monday, May 16.However, when he arrived around the waters of Pulau Tiga, the ship suffered engine failure due to being hit by a fairly high wave.According to him, the Maluku Basarnas communication center then received information from the victim's family at around 06:27 WIT.So that rescue teams were deployed using KN SAR Abhimanyu to the scene to carry out SAR operations at coordinates 3°37,724' S - 127° 53,115' E, with a distance of approximately 25.2 Nm and Heading 284.79° West direction from the Ambon SAR Office."At 08.55 WIT, KN SAR Abimanyu arrived at the scene and managed to find KM Terajana in a state of drift and adrift around the waters of Pulau Tiga, Central Maluku Regency," explained Mustari.All 13 victims were found safe. Furthermore, KM Terajana was withdrawn by KN SAR Abhimanyu to Pulau Tiga.
Those above KM Terajana are Rosit (67), Budu (76), Bau (65), Dade (50), Lili (35), Ala (25), Iya (21), Dilfan (17), Soba (40), Romi (15), Yeni (27), Aher (20), and Darma (32).From the results of the coordination between the team and the captain of KM Terajana, they asked to stay on Island Three for anchoring while trying to repair engine damage.
