Mayor Gibran Discusses Communal Parking Solutions For Solo Residents Who Don't Have A Garage
CENTRAL JAVA - The City Government (Pemkot) of Solo is planning a communal parking space for residents who have cars but do not have a large area for a garage.
"The point is I'm giving residents time to understand the rules. The rules have been issued, and the garage will be prepared immediately," said Solo Mayor (Walkot) Gibran Rakabuming Raka in Solo, Central Java (Central Java), Thursday, March 2.
Socialization and time given to the public to understand these rules, he said, for 1 year.
"Basically, I know residents need time to prepare for all of this. I think one year is enough time," he said at Antara's site.
However, if the condition of the house does not allow for a parking lot to be built, the local government will find another solution.
"Is it communal parking or a parking center in the nearest village or sub-district? We are looking for a solution," he said.

He explained the purpose of issuing Regional Regulation Number 10 of 2022 concerning the Implementation of Transportation so that residents do not park on the side of the road.
"Because it's very dangerous, it's not a traffic jam problem. It's dangerous if there's a fire, flood, and heavy equipment wants to get in, it can't," he said.
Meanwhile, in the future, it is hoped that the licensing party or companies that offer vehicle loans will carry out a garage ownership survey.
"Ideally like that, especially if you want to do a field survey to check first. This requires cooperation from all parties," he stated.
