BNPB Records 363 Schools and 144 Places of Worship Damaged by the 5.6 Magnitude Cianjur Earthquake
JAKARTA - The National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) noted that 363 schools were damaged by the 5.6 magnitude earthquake that rocked Cianjur, West Java on Monday, November 21. Apart from schools, there are also places of worship, health facilities, and offices.
"There are additions for schools. 363 units were damaged, then 144 places of worship and three health facilities and 16 office buildings", explained BNPB Head Suharyanto during a press conference quoted from BNPB Indonesia's Youtube, Friday, November 25.
In addition to damaged buildings, BNPB also recorded that 310 people died. Meanwhile, 24 people are still in the process of being searched.
"Well, these 24 people are still being sought, but the identities of these 24 people have been clearly identified so that later they will be found, all that's left is the missing number", he explained in a press conference quoted from the BNPB Indonesia Youtube channel, Friday, November 25.
