Having Fun With IDR 1.8 Billion Of School Committee Funds, Ex-Principal Of SMKN 1 Ende Sued For 20 Years In Prison

NTT - The former Principal of SMK Negeri I Ende in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) with the initials HGR is threatened with a maximum prison sentence of 20 years. HGR is suspected of using the School Committee worth more than IDR 1 billion for personal purposes.

"The minimum penalty is four years in prison, but a maximum of 20 years in prison and a fine of between IDR 200 million and IDR 1 billion," said Ende Police Chief, AKBP Andre Librian, when contacted, Wednesday, November 2.

He explained that as a result of HGR's use of School Committee funds for personal interests, the total state losses were estimated at IDR 1.8 billion.

Some of them were used by HGR to buy a gold ring worth IDR 4 million, a motor vehicle, and other necessities.

In addition to HGR, a treasurer with the initials WD who signed the disbursement of the money was also threatened with the same punishment, for allegedly also using the funds for personal purposes.

HGR said the Police Chief, from the results of the examination, it was known that from the IDR 1 billion, part of it was handed over to his wife and children for personal interests. The school committee funds at SMKN I Ende are for spree.

"It's like a plane ticket for a trip for his wife and children whose value reaches IDR 403 million," said Andre.

Meanwhile, another suspect in this case, a treasurer with the initials WD, is known to have used the money to buy a plot of land in Ende Regency for IDR 50 million.

Not only that, several teachers and civil servants at the school also received a share of IDR 196 million. However, the total value of the money is for Welfare payments.

The police chief said that HGR and WD had been arrested. Based on Antara's report, a number of related pieces of evidence have also been declared complete and case files have been compiled to be summarized in their entirety.

"Currently, the temporary case files are summarized and this week they will be sent to the public prosecutor," he said.

For his actions, HGR was charged with a number of layered articles, namely Article 2 paragraph (1), Article 3 in conjunction with Article 18 paragraph (1) letter (a) Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 31 of 1999 as amended by Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 20 of 1999. 2001 concerning Eradication of criminal acts of corruption in conjunction with Article 55 of the Criminal Code.
