Against The Flow, MVP Pictures Creates A Comedy Drama Film: Duit Express
JAKARTA - The horror film fever has forced some Indonesian production houses to make horror films. Various titles have also been introduced to the public. However, Multi Vision Plus Pictures (MVP Pictures) went against the grain by making the movie Duit Express.
Duit Express is directed by Ody C. Harahap and written by Imam Darto.
The film, which takes place in Eastern Indonesia, stars new players in the film industry, including Alfin Dwi Krisnandi, Sepriadi, and Dimas Kusnand.
Duit Express tells the story of the journey of the Makuboys (Mamet, Kubil and Bolay) who are forced to carry their grandfather's body across the island to get the inheritance of his grandfather's gold shop.
Mamet is fed up with the treatment of Kartolo, the boss at the Kartolo Abadi Gold Shop, and his grandfather. Kartolo is very hard at educating his grandson, because he is a retired soldier.
Meanwhile, Kubil and Bolay, two of Kartolo's workers, Mamet's friends, are also tired of dealing with Kartolo's stingy and very strict behavior. However, the three of them had no other choice to find a place to work. The three of them desperately need money to meet their daily needs.
One day, Kartolo took Mamet, Kubil, and Bolay to Labuan Bajo, with the excuse of taking a vacation. Unbeknownst to the three workers, Kartolo went to Labuan Bajo to meet Herman, Kartolo's old comrade in East Timor.
Herman received information about the whereabouts of Adelina Bia Carascalao, Kartolo's first wife who had disappeared since 1978. However, unexpectedly, after arriving in Labuan Bajo, Kartolo died in his sleep.
