Japan Open 2022: Become A Closing, Fajar/Rian Complete Indonesia's Victory On Day Two
JAKARTA - Indonesian men's doubles, Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Rian Ardianto became Indonesia's last representative to qualify from the last 32 of the 2022 Japan Open. In closing, both of them presented good results with wins.
Fajar/Rian won in two games which lasted for 45 minutes. Meeting representatives of Japan, Akira Koga/Taichi Saito, the fifth seed in Indonesia closed the match with a score of 22-21 and 21-18.
In the first half, Fajar/Rian managed to collect two points first, but after that, the Japanese representatives refused to give up. Their efforts to suppress Fajar/Rian's movement succeeded with an 11-8 advantage in the first interval becoming Akira/Taichi's.
After the Japanese pair's break still dominates points, Fajar/Rian's efforts seem difficult because the opponent is quite careful. However, the situation turned out for the Indonesian representatives after getting the points game which brought the 22-21 victory in the first game.
In the second game it was Fajar/Rian's turn to lead in the early points, although they were overtaken at 5-5 points, Indonesia's representatives consistently collected points until they were 11-9 ahead. Fajar/Rian's dominance continued after the second-half break.
With a difference of three points, Fajar/Rian shot up long until the match was over in the 45th minute with a 21-18 victory for Indonesia.
Before Fajar/Rian, Indonesia's representative in the women's doubles, Febriana Kusuma/Amalia Pratiwi also won against the Dutch representatives, Debora Jille/Cheryl Senen. The women's doubles won two games with a score of 21-16 and 22-20.
The victory of Fajar/Rian and Ana/Tiwi is a complement to Indonesia's performance today. Because of the eight representatives who were sent down in round 32, seven of them won while the other, namely Anthony Ginting, decided to withdraw before the match.
