Arresting Drug Dealers to Aceh, Serang Police Precisely Finds Hectares of Cannabis Fields
SERANG - Serang Police Narcotics Unit together with the Banten Police Narcotics Directorate in collaboration with the Aceh Police carried out the destruction of a 3-hectare marijuana tree in Cotawasu Hamlet, Kotawasu Village, Sawang District, North Aceh Regency, Tuesday, August 30.
The Head of Public Relations of the Banten Police, Commissioner Shinto Silitonga, explained that the disclosure of the marijuana field in Aceh began with the arrest of RM and RTP with evidence of approximately 1,120 grams of marijuana on September 6, 2021, in Barengkok Village, Kibin District, Serang Regency.
"Officers carried out developments by arresting AN, whose address is in Anyer Village, Anyer District, Serang Regency, and found evidence in the form of marijuana weighing 825 grams", said Shinto.
Officers continued their development in North Sumatra by arresting two dealers, namely AT and MHT on Tuesday, September 14, 2021, in two different locations in Medan City.
"From the results of the AT and MHT examinations, information was obtained that they got marijuana from IRL (DPO). Information was obtained if IRL often took marijuana in Cotawasu Hamlet, Sawang Village, Sawang District, North Aceh Regency. The officers went to North Aceh Regency to conduct an investigation. And on August 28, 2022, at around 13.00, personnel found a cannabis field of approximately 3 hectares in Cot Rawatu Hamlet, Kurung Village, North Aceh Regency. This location is a location where IRL often takes marijuana", said Shinto in a written statement, Tuesday, August 30.

Head of Sub-Directorate 1 of the Banten Police's Narcotics Directorate, Commissioner Didid Imawan, said the location of the marijuana fields was divided into 3 areas.
"Area 1 found a marijuana tree as high as 100-200 cm (4 months old) covering an area of 0.5 hectares. Area 2 found a marijuana tree as high as 50-100 cm (2 months old) covering an area of 0.5 hectares. Area 3 found a marijuana tree as high as 150-250 cm (3-4 months old) covering an area of 2 hectares", he explained.
Commissioner Didid emphasized that a total of approximately 30,000 marijuana trees were found.
"Per stems or trees can produce 0.5 kg/500 grams of wet marijuana or 0.25kg/250 grams of dried marijuana. So that the number of cannabis trees found and destroyed is around 30,000 trees x 0.5 kg = 15 tons of wet marijuana or 30,000 x 0.25 kg = 7.5 tons of dried marijuana. The cannabis plant is destroyed by removing and burning", concluded Commissioner Didid.
