Netflix Launches External Subscription Option Button For IOS Users
JAKARTA - Netflix has started rolling out an option to an external link for iPhone and iPad users to be able to sign up for the service. This option came about when, in early 2022, Apple allowed "reader" apps, which provide access to digital content like Netflix and Spotify, to link account sign-up pages to their own websites.
As 9to5Mac found that it's not clear when Netflix will start rolling out this option. What is certain is, Netflix is now using a new iOS API for reader app that will take users to external websites before subscribing.
"You will exit the application and go to an external website. You will no longer transact with Apple's NETFLIX," reads the announcement that appears when Apple device users open the Netflix app.
Netflix also notes that any payments that users make are now no longer the responsibility of Apple.
"Your App Store account, stored payment methods, and related features, such as subscription management and refund requests, will not be available. Apple is not responsible for the privacy or security of transactions made with these developers," the platform continued.
If you agree to continue, you will be taken to the Netflix website and fill in your details, then choose a subscription plan, and payment method.

This way, Apple will no longer receive a 30% commission from the price of subscriptions made in iOS applications, including Netflix.
On the other hand, Netflix is starting to pilot a new "add a home" feature to bill users who share their accounts with others in Argentina, the Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Guatemala, and Honduras.
So, for everyone who uses a Netflix account outside of the main house, the company will charge an additional $2.99 per month.
