MUI Investigate Allegations Of Sun God Teaching Spread In Lebak
LEBAK - The Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) of Lebak Regency, Banten Province, is investigating allegations of spreading the teachings of the sun god that disturbed the community in Bayah District, Lebak Regency.
"We will discuss the issue of teachings spread by Natrom (62), a resident of Sawarna Village, Bayah District, who claims to be a sun god," said Deputy Chair of the Lebak Regency MUI K.H. Ahmad Hudori when contacted in Lebak, Wednesday, July 13.
If the understanding is properly carried out by the person concerned, he continued, then it is included in the category of deviant sects from Islamic teachings. If the teachings are mixed with Islamic beliefs, then it is classified as a deviant sect.
Therefore, MUI Lebak Regency will explore the truth of the information in coordination with the police.
Initially, it was suspected that the teachings were spread by Natrom, a man from Bekasi, West Java, who bought land in Sawarna Bayah Village, Lebak Regency. Based on information, Natrom is suspected of spreading the teachings of the sun god and residents are prohibited from praying and are not allowed to follow the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad.
With this information, local residents then took Natrom to the Bayah Police. This was done so that there would be no mass outcry because the information had already developed in the community.
"Now Natrom has been secured at the Lebak Police," said Ahmad Hudori, quoted by Antara.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Criminal and Investigation Unit (Kasatreskrim) of the Lebak Police, AKP Indik Rusmono, said that currently the perpetrators of spreading the teachings of the sun god were undergoing investigations on the public's report.
"We are still investigating Natrom, who is suspected of being the sun god," he said.
