Having A Wealth Of IDR 5.93 Trillion, Shaquille O'Neal Wants To Acquire Orlando Magic
JAKARTA - Shaquille Rashaun O'Neal played 19 seasons in the NBA and had a successful career which is also reflected in his estimated net worth of $400 million (IDR 5.93 trillion).
However, some financial experts claim that his biggest income came from investments he made in various businesses after he retired from professional basketball.
Perhaps this is why he sparked a desire to buy the Orlando Magic, the team that gave him the opportunity to make his debut in 1992.
In an episode of his podcast "The Big Podcast with Shaq", the former athlete who is now 50 years old expressed his interest in buying one of the clubs that take part in the NBA.
"Dennis, we have the money. You don't have to worry about the money. This message goes to the DeVos family. If you're ready to sell the Orlando Magic, sell it to someone who will take it to the next level. That's us!" he said, quoted from Marca, Wednesday, June 29.
Magic's management is currently building a team that thinks about the future. The best proof of that is that during the 2022 NBA Draft, they had the number one pick and picked Paolo Banchero, a Duke University prodigy, who joined other young players like Jales Suggs, Franz Wagner and Mo Bamba.

Increasing team productivity is critical for Orlando to grow in the highly competitive Eastern Conference.
In this sense, beyond O'Neal's intention to buy Magic, it actually had more to do with the immense potential to grow his fortune. The reason is, several major sports and soft drink brands are still communicating with the former NBA player.
So, if the possible transaction in which Shaq comes to save Magic is resolved, this team's image will develop into one of the league's protagonists.
