Inter Milan Wins Coppa Italia Through Dramatic Victory Against Juventus, Ends A Decade Of Waiting

JAKARTA - Inter Milan won the Coppa Italia 2021/2022 after defeating Juventus in the final which took place Thursday, May 12, early morning of GMT+7 (Indonesian Time). The Blue and Black won with a score of 4-2 through extra time.

In this match, Inter Milan took the lead in the 7th minute through Nicola Barella's goal. However, Juventus took the lead after Alex Sandro and Dusan Vlahovic scored in the 50th and 52nd minutes.

Inter Milan did not give up. They kept trying to catch up. Samir Handanovic and his friends' efforts bore fruit in the 80th minute through the execution of Hakan Calhanoglu's penalty and forced the match to continue in extra time.

In this extra round, Inter Milan added two goals. The two goals were bought by Ivan Perisic in the 99th minute (penalty) and 102.

"It was a good performance against a very, very strong team. This team never gives up," Inter Milan coach Simone Inzaghi told Sport Mediaset.

Inzaghi then let his team enjoy this victory. Understandably, Inter Milan has never tasted the Coppa Italia title for a decade.

Finally, The Blue Black felt this title in the 2010/2011 season. This is their 8th trophy in the Coppa Italia.

"It's fair for us to enjoy this moment. It's been a decade since we won the Coppa Italia or Supercoppa, so I'm happy for the club, players and fans who have always been with us from start to finish," said Inzaghi.

"This is our 50 games this season. I can't ask for anything more from the players. I'm very happy. It's only right that we enjoy this trophy with all the fans," he continued.
