Baseball Player Albert Pujols Decides To Divorce Days After Wife's Brain Tumor Surgery

JAKARTA - A baseball player of American-Dominican descent, Albert Pujols, has decided to end his marriage to Deidre. In fact, the two have been married for 22 years.

Even more surprising, this decision was announced a few days after Deidre successfully underwent brain tumor surgery.

"I have been asked many questions over the past few days about what is going on in my household and unfortunately, after 22 years of marriage, I have made the decision to file for divorce from my wife, Deidre", Pujols said in a statement released by his agent, Dan Lozano.

He admits this is not the right time to convey it. Especially after what his wife went through.

"This situation is never easy and it's not something that just happens overnight", he said.

Albert Pujols and Deidre are known to have married in 2000. They have five children.

Even though they decided to separate, Albert Pujols added, they will remain committed to raising their five children with love and security.
