Greysia/Apriyani Resign From All England 2022, This Is The Reason
JAKARTA - Indonesian women's doubles Greysia Polii/Apriyani Rahayu could not continue the match at the All England 2022 because Apriyani's injury relapsed in the middle of the match against Indian representatives Treesa Jolly/Gayatri Gopichand Pullela.
In the second round match which was held at the Utlita Arena, Birmingham, England, Thursday local time, Greysia/Apriyani, who are the fifth seeds, decided to withdraw in the middle of the second game at 21-18, 14-19.
Quoted from Antara, Friday, Apriyani's right calf injury relapsed which made her movement on the field limited so she chose to withdraw from the match.
Apriyani has been experiencing problems in her right calf since last month. These conditions forced her debut with her new partner Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti at the German Open last week to be postponed.
However, the recommendation of the Cipayung National Training Team medical team has allowed the 23-year-old badminton player to appear at the All England with Greysia.

Greysia/Apriyani made it through the first round of All England even though they had to work hard. The women's doubles, ranked sixth in the world, won over the unseeded Danish pair Maiken Fruergaard/Sara Thygesen through a rubber set that ended with a score of 21-17, 20-22, 21-14.
With the withdrawal of Greysia/Apriyani, there will be no longer Indonesian women's doubles representatives left at the All England 2022.
However, until this news was revealed, Indonesia had at least passed five representatives to the quarter-finals of the oldest badminton tournament. They are men's doubles Muhammad Shohibul Fikri/Bagas Maulana, Marcus Fernaldi/Kevin Sanjaya, Leo Rolly Carnanda/Daniel Marthin, Mohammad Ahsan/Hendra Setiawan, and men's singles Anthony Sinisuka Ginting.
