France Re-Recruit Famous Coach For The Paris Olympics, This Time It's Fernando Rivas' Turn
JAKARTA - The French Badminton Federation has appointed Fernando Rivas of Spain who is the coach of 2016 Olympic champion Carolina Marin, to a senior position ahead of the 2024 Olympics in Paris.
Rivas will continue to be the coach of Marin, who is a three-time world champion and divides his time in the two positions. He signed a part-time contract until the next Olympics.
French badminton president Yohan Penel made the decision to bring Rivas "to add his internationally recognized badminton expertise" to his existing coaching staff.

Rivas' arrival is the latest in a string of recruitments of renowned foreign coaches in French sport carried out with the mission of the 2024 Olympics.
Dutch swimming coach Jacco Verhaeren, German rowing coach Jurgen Grobler and South Korean archery coach Oh Seon-Tek have all been recruited to help France win medals at home.
