Indonesia Patriots Win First Victory At IBL 2022, Coach: Playing With Joy Is The Key
JAKARTA - The Indonesian Patriots basketball team finally got their first win at the 2022 IBL event. Playing more fun was the key to the victory of Milos Pejic's team.
The Patriots' inaugural victory was obtained after defeating Evos Thunder Bogor in the second match at the Basketball Hall Senayan, Jakarta, Tuesday, January 18. The match ended with a score 58-53.
"This second match we played better than the previous match. In the future, we will give players free play. Enjoy every match," explained Pejic in a statement obtained by VOI.
The Patriots' duel against Evos Thunder has been exciting since the first quarter. The pursuit of numbers was immediately presented so that the score was equally strong, 12-12, which was created in this quarter.
In the second quarter, the Patriots immediately started to attack so they could add 17 points. Meanwhile, Evos carved as many as 15 points.
Evos managed to rise in the third quarter and managed to outperform their opponents. They scored 20 points, while the Patriots were only able to make 11 points.

In the last quarter, the Patriots found their best game again. Their player Mario Davidson managed to become the star of the victory after taking advantage of two free throws with 10 seconds remaining.
"Both teams played well, we played effortlessly today even though there were some mistakes in this game we still tried to win the game," said Davidson.
Mario was the Patriots' top scorer with 16 points and three assists. Beneath it was Ali Bagir who contributed 14 points, 8 rebounds, and 3 assists. As for Evos, Jaywuan D'angelo Hill contributed the most points with 14 points and 8 rebounds.
