Victory Over Brentford Clears Doubts Against Liverpool Missing Salah, Mane And Keita

JAKARTA - Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp said the win over Brentford cleared some doubts about his side having to temporarily lose Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane, and Naby Keita to represent their country in the Africa Cup of Nations.

Quoted by Antara from Sky Sports, Monday, according to Klopp, this victory was very helpful and made the debate about Liverpool losing Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane, and Naby Keita a little less.

"I knew beforehand that the match against Brentford was going to be a difficult one. It's difficult and that's why I'm very happy that we did well. (The 3-0 win) was very helpful, to defuse this discussion," Klopp explained.

The German understands the debate about Liverpool leaving important players like Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane, and Naby Keita, but thinks it makes no sense to talk about it.

Jurgen Klopp admits he is reluctant to talk about players who are not currently in his squad, and he thinks the most important thing right now is to find ways to beat the opponents they will face.

Klopp explained that that day his team was able to have a good match and managed to beat their opponents. According to him, it made him very happy.

"I understand the questions and the thoughts behind it but to me, it doesn't make sense because they (Salah, Mane, and Keita) are not here, like injured players and we don't want to talk about players who aren't there.

"We have to find a way to beat the enemy. Today we did quite well and I'm very happy about that," said Klopp.

In the match against Brentford in the 22nd week of the Premier League, Liverpool managed to win with a score of 3-0 through goals scored by Fabinho, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, and Takumi Minamino.

Since being left by Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane, and Naby Keita, Liverpool has only been able to draw against 10 Arsenal players in the first leg of the English League Cup some time ago.
