36 Convicts Entered The DPO Of The Aceh High Prosecutor's Office, Fled While Being Executed
ACEH - The Aceh High Prosecutor's Office (Kejati) stated that 36 convicts in various cases were on the wanted list or DPO, because they fled while being executed and went to prison.
The head of the Aceh Attorney General's Office Muhammad Yusuf, in Banda Aceh, Thursday, January 6, said that the Aceh Attorney General's Office had formed a team to capture fugitives to find and pursue the convicts who were listed on the DPO.
"They entered the DPO because they did not want to be executed and serve their sentence. Even though their case already has permanent legal force. Until now, there are still 36 convicts who are still being sought and entered into the DPO," said Muhammad Yusuf as quoted by Antara.
Muhammad Yusuf appealed and reminded the convicts who entered the DPO to surrender immediately. If not, the Fugitive Arrest Team (Tabur) of the Aceh Prosecutor's Office will continue to search for the convict's whereabouts.
Since the team was formed in January 2021, said Muhammad Yusuf, the Aceh District Attorney's Office has arrested 15 convicts. The two convicts surrendered, namely in Simeulue Regency and Banda Aceh City.
"We also invite the public to report if they know of the whereabouts of the convict who is being sought to the prosecutor's office or other relevant agencies. Any information conveyed will speed up the arrest of the DPO," said Muhammad Yusuf.

The former deputy head of the Aceh Prosecutor's Office said that the pursuit of the DPOs encountered problems such as their presence no longer in Aceh. Some have even fled abroad such as Malaysia.
However, said Muhammad Yusuf, this did not dampen the enthusiasm of the sow team to seek, chase, and arrest the DPOs. Because they have to be punished for what they did.
"We invite the public to inform if they see and know the whereabouts of the DPO. We are also coordinating with other relevant agencies to chase the fugitives," said Muhammad Yusuf.
