COVID-19 Vaccination In North Barito Reaches 70.69 Percent

NORTH BARITO - The COVID-19 vaccination in North Barito Regency, Central Kalimantan, as of January 3, 2022, has reached 84,201 people, or 70.69 percent of the target for the first dose.

"Although the vaccination has reached the target, it is a little late due to several reasons," said North Barito Regent Nadalsyah at a virtual limited meeting on handling COVID-19 with Central Kalimantan Governor Sugianto Sabran and 14 regencies/cities in Central Kalimantan followed by Muara Teweh, North Barito Regency, reported by the Jakarta Post. According to Nadalsyah, the obstacles faced include not updating the population identification number (NIK) for vaccine targets, limited internet access in some areas, and difficult geographical locations, namely in remote villages.

"So it requires a rather large cost in the implementation of vaccination," explained Nadalsyah.

On that occasion, Nadalsyah said that since December 21, 2021, until now there have been no suspected or confirmed cases being treated at the Muara Teweh Hospital.

"Reports as of January 3, 2022, positive cases were 1,542, 1,498 recovered and 44 people died," Nadalsyah said. Especially at this time, based on the Decree of the President of the Republic of Indonesia Number 24 of 2021 dated December 31, 2021, concerning Determination of Factual Status
