Elected As Commander In Chief, General Andika Perkasa Doesn't Want TNI To Take On Ministry Tasks
JAKARTA - The candidate for the TNI (Army) Commander-in-Chief, General Andika Perkasa, promised to bring military institutions to carry out their duties according to regulations, without taking on the duties of other institutions.
Andika said, one of the main focuses is bringing the TNI to carry out its duties in accordance with the Law (UU). He admitted, so far, the tasks that have been carried out have been regulated by law, but the implementation still has many weaknesses.
"You can't, you can't. Because we are in a team in our country's system consisting of many institutions. Each institution's regulations are disciplined in their main functions. We are one team as one strength. So that is my commitment to be disciplined in enforcing laws and regulations. invitation", said Andika after undergoing a fit and proper test, at the House of Representatives Building, Parliament Complex, Senayan, Saturday, November 6.
If in the future there are tasks that will channel TNI assistance, Andika emphasized that his party will prioritize the departmental institutions that do have a task. Andika said that in carrying it out, the TNI should not overdo it.

As is known, Andika has been appointed by Commission I of the House of Representatives to be the Commander of the Indonesian Armed Forces elected to replace Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto, who will retire in November 2021.
President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) proposed Andika's name to the House of Representatives on Wednesday, November 3, 2021 to undergo a fit and proper test.
Later, Andika will only be the commander for approximately one year. The reason is, Andika will enter retirement on December 21, 2022.
