JAKARTA - Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Erick Thohir ensured that airplane tickets, trains, and passenger ships managed by state-owned transportation companies did not increase during the Lebaran 2025 homecoming period or Eid al-Fitr 1446 H.
The decision was conveyed by Erick after a meeting with PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) or KAI, PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry (Persero), PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero) or Pelindo, PT PELNI (Persero), Perum DAMRI, and PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk.
"There is no increase in ticket prices at PELNI, at ASDP, at Jasa Marga, in DAMRI, and we make sure to encourage all of this rather than of course the national economy," Erick said at a press conference at the Ministry of SOEs office, Wednesday, January 22.
Regarding ticket discounts for the Lebaran period, Erick admitted that he still needed to discuss it with the relevant Ministries/Institutions.
As for the 2024 Christmas and 2025 New Year (Nataru) holidays, the government provides a discount on aircraft ticket rates of 10 percent.
"Well, will there be a discount for the components? Of course there is a higher main task force, which of course we will see in accordance with the rules of course the Minister of Transportation or others," said Erick.
In addition, Erick said, this year's Eid transportation will receive special attention from the Ministry of SOEs. This is because the Eid celebration this time is close to Nyepi Day or Saka New Year 1947.
