JAKARTA - A man carrying a sharp weapon carried out a terrorist act by stopping a Transjakarta bus on Jalan Daan Mogot Raya, precisely at the Jembatan Terbang, Cengkareng, West Jakarta, Monday, December 30.

During the action, the perpetrator was arrested by a joint member from the West Jakarta Metro Police and the Cengkareng Police. The incident occurred on Monday morning at around 08.10 WIB.

The incident had frightened the residents. The perpetrators also wanted to be secured by Busway officers but continued to fight back.

Head of Samapta Polres Metro West Jakarta, AKBP M Hari Agung Julianto said that his party had previously received reports that there had been an incident in the trial.

"After we received the report, the West Jakarta Metro Police Precision Pioneer Patrol Team immediately went to the scene. The perpetrator with the initials MT alias AIS (20) was successfully secured. He confiscated a sharp weapon of the Garuda handle knife type," said AKBP M Hari Agung when confirmed, Monday, December 30, afternoon.

When officers tried to stop the action persuasively, the man actually attacked members using a sharp weapon of the Garuda handle knife type.

"We managed to secure the perpetrator without any victim. In addition, we also secured evidence in the form of a Garuda sedang knife and a Yamaha Mio Smile motorcycle belonging to the perpetrator," he said.

Furthermore, the perpetrator and the evidence were brought to the Cengkareng Police for further investigation.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Cengkareng Police, Kompol Abdul Jana, confirmed that the perpetrator was not under the influence of drugs.

"The results of the drug test showed negative," said Kompol Abdul Jana.

However, investigators are still investigating the motives of the perpetrators of MT committing the terror act.

"The perpetrators of the action were under the influence of liquor (alcohol). However, the motive for the perpetrators to stop the busway while carrying sharp weapons is still being investigated," he said.
