GWM Shows Off Official Images of the Tank 300 Facelift, What Has Changed?

JAKARTA - Great Wall Motor (GWM) released official images of the updated Tank 300. From the images it can be seen that there are various updates including a new LiDAR unit, to the chassis has also been updated, with a shorter front overhang for better off-road performance. Quoting from the Carnewschina page, Thursday, June 2, for the PHEV variant of the Tank 300 also gets a significant increase in battery capacity, with a 60 kWh package that can travel 200 km which will be launched soon. This updated SUV will start pre-sales in China on July 6, with global deliveries expected to begin after its launch in the home country. Looking at the changes The Tank 300 has undergone significant changes to the front. The silver T emblem and the black U have disappeared, replaced by the "TANK" capital letters. The front bumper also continues the existing design language. At first glance it resembles GWM's Hooke Edition prototype, which was introduced at Auto Shanghai 2025.

Apart from these exterior updates, another highlight is the additional protrusion above the windshield, a feature that is usually only on LiDAR units. It is possible that this new Tank 300 will be equipped with GWM's Coffee Pilot Ultra driving assistance system. In addition to visual and technological improvements, the new 300 has also grown, based on MIIT documents stating the length dimensions of 4,886 mm, width 1,984 mm, height 1,927 mm, and wheelbase which has now been extended to 3,010 mm. The revised chassis cuts the front overhang, improves the approach angle, and sharpens off-road capabilities. The ICE variant is expected to offer the same powertrain as currently, namely a 2.4T diesel engine 490 Nm, a 3.0T V6 gasoline engine 265 kW (355 hp), and a 2.0T 4-cylinder gasoline engine, which has now been upgraded to 175 kW (235 hp). Meanwhile, the GWM 30 GWM PHEV model introduces the Hi4-Z system which focuses on range, promising a WLTC EV range of 200 km from a 60 kWh battery.
