X Acts Quickly In Eradicating Disinformation Related To The Israel-Hamas War

Elon Musk's X-Platform faces serious challenges after the war between Hamas and Israel broke out in the Gaza Strip. X is the target of spreading false information and this is considered detrimental to many parties.

X, through its official Safety account, said there was an increase in active users in conflict areas. In fact, there are more than 50 million posts containing information about Hamas attacks. With this figure, of course X faces serious challenges in eradicating disinformation.

Therefore, X is focusing on taking several actions. In addition to updating the General Interest Policy, X has removed many posts based on the Policy of Violence and Hate Entity.

The platform, which was previously known as Twitter, also deleted new accounts suspected of being affiliated with Hamas so that online-distributed terrorism content could be prevented. So far, they have cracked down on tens of thousands of posts and hundreds of accounts trying to manipulate topics.

In addition to focusing on concrete action, X also makes real-time Community Records. Usually, someone needs to wait a few minutes after the content is uploaded, but now it's not that long.

X himself is grateful for the many contributors, Community Records users, who have helped them in recent days in the face of disinformation. So far, contributors have managed to write several uploads with a total viewed tens of millions of times.

This note has also been used to straighten out various topics such as war recordings outside the context, protest videos stemming from other issues, fake videos in the form of game simulators, to US funding for the conflict.

This platform explains that it is trying to show more notes on an image or video so as not to mislead and increase the appearance of records faster, which is 1.5 hours to 3.5 hours faster than the average.
