Dramatic, Villarreal Almost Humiliated Division Four Club In Copa Del Rey

JAKARTA - Spanish La Liga club Villarreal almost humiliated Zamora in the Copa de Rey match. In the second round of the Spanish Cup tournament at the Ruta de la Plata Stadium, Thursday, November 23 in the morning WIB, Villarreal had to work hard and dramatically win 2-1 through extra time.

Zamora, a club from Segunda Federacion Group 1 or who competed in division four, almost humiliated Villarreal. Even Zamora, who has the nickname Rojiblancos Viriatos, had already won first.

However, Gerard Moreno et al were then able to turn things around even though they had to finish the match in extra time. The reason is, they couldn't overcome Zamora's resistance in normal time.

Villarreal, who is currently still struggling at the bottom of La Liga by being ranked 14th, must work hard when facing a club from the bottom division.

In that match, coach Marcelino did not field the best squad. He fielded most of the players who had been sitting on the bench.

Even veteran goalkeeper Pepe Reina who was standing under the bar replaced Filip Jorgensen.

Reina, the former Spanish national team goalkeeper, is 41 and has never been fielded by Marcelino this season.

Appearing with the second tier team, Villarreal really had difficulty facing Zamora's insistence game. Even The Yellow Submarine was left behind when Asier Etxaburu scored in the 49th minute.

Zamora's 1-0 score lasted until the game entered the final minute. Luckily there was Jose Luis Morales who saved Villarreal's face who scored a goal in just two minutes left.

Until the end of the match the score remained 1-1 so it was continued with extra time.

In this round, Morales again appeared as the rescuer of the yellow submarine.

The 36-year-old forward scored a brace in the 96th minute. He completed an assist from Etienne Capoue.

The score changed to 2-1 for Villarreal and lasted until the end of Villarreal's match also escaped from the side of the fourth division team.
