FC Porto Steps Closer To The Last 16 Of The Champions League After Beating Royalikarp 2-0

FC Porto remains on track into the last 16 of the Champions League after winning 2-0 over Royalikarp who has been forced to have only 10 players since the 50th minute. This victory came after Evanilson's penalty in the first half and Pepe's veteran player's header at the end of the match at Group H meeting on Tuesday, November 7.

Evanilson, a Brazilian player previously also scored a hat-trick when Porto beat the Belgian club 4-1 in a Champions League game earlier last month. In this match, it converted a penalty in the 32nd minute after Gyrano Kerk's careless foul on Stephen Eustaquio.

Porto dominated the game afterANTerp midfielder Jurgen Ekkelenkamp was shown a red card seven minutes after the second half began.

However, despite having the advantage of the number of players, Porto had to wait up to one minute after additional time to score their second goal. Pepe is scored by a former Portugal national player who is now 40 years old.

This result makes Porto occupy second place with nine points, matching Barcelona who leads the group, with both three points ahead of Shakhtar Donetsk. This result came as a surprise after Barcelona lost 0-1 to Donetsk.

Antwerp's fourth straight defeat meant they didn't have a chance to finish in the top two, although they still had two games left.
