Mykhaylo Mudryk Starts Showing His Best Performance At Chelsea

Mauricio Pochettino stated that Mykhaylo Mudryk always needed time to adapt to life at Chelsea. This was said after starting to show his best performance in recent matches.

Since joining Shakhtar Donetsk in January, Mudryk has failed to "justify" its purchase price of 89 million pounds (Rp1.6 trillion). The reason is, he only contributed two assists from 23 appearances in all competitions.

However, since last September's international break, this Ukrainian international has started to have a significant impact. He even got a prize by scoring his first goal for the Blues against Fulham on Monday, October 2 night.

Even so, Pochettino full of praise for the left winger, which he proposed began to mature in the role in the squad, after nine less consistent months.

"It's about maturity, adaptation, big changes for him here. It's not easy to adapt, too many young players aren't solid and don't be an important part of the team. They need to add something for the team," Pochettino told reporters at a press conference, as quoted by football.london.

"It's about the time and trust of these players and building trust. Gradually. For us, it's about patience, we're calm and stay positive, and we've won two games in a few days. It's important for us to stay calm and continue to grow and build faith," added the coach.

"We spoke and we worked. It was the services of the entire coaching staff. Jesus [Perez], the people we found here, the whole staff, we had a very good relationship and we decided for each player the possibility to improve himself," he said.

Currently, Chelsea are in 11th position in the Premier League standings before visiting Turf Moor to face Burnley on Saturday, October 7.
