JAKARTA - Borneo FC managed to climb to the top of the Indonesian League 1 standings after securing victory over Bhayangkara FC in the nine seasons 2023/2024.

Stefano Lilipaly emerged as the star of victory thanks to two goals that occurred in a span of ten minutes at Patriot Candrabhaga Stadium, Bekasi, West Java, Friday, August 18 evening WIB.

The 33-year-old put his team ahead in the 62nd minute. He then added a winning goal for his team ten minutes later.

An additional three points made Pieter Huistra's team have collected a total of 16 points from nine matches and have the right to move up to the top position of the Indonesian highest caste standings.

Madura United has the same number of points in second place. Madura will again take over the top position if she can get points against Persikabo 1973 in the ninth week of Saturday, August 19 tomorrow.

In another match, Persebaya Surabaya also successfully secured the victory which hosted PSM Makassar visitors, Gelora Bung Tomo.

The single goal that determines Bajul Ijo's victory was scored by South Korean player Song Ui-young when the game had only been running for nine minutes.

Then in another party, PSS Sleman managed to secure a dramatic 3-2 victory when he visited Persita Tangerang headquarters at the Indomilk Arena.

In the following week, Borneo will host Persita Tangerang, while PSS Sleman will wait for Persebaya's arrival.
