A Worrying Trend Of Saudi Arabian Football Clubs

JAKARTA - The Saudi Arabian League club in this summer's transfer market caused an uproar, especially European football. Several famous names on the European continent were brought to the Middle East.

The celebration of this Saudi Arabian club has worried several parties. One of them is Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp.

He then urged the football authorities to address the schedule for the transfer market in the country's league.

Saudi Arabia's transfer market expires on September 20, three weeks after the European transfer window closes. Klopp fears it could have an impact on clubs that could not recruit suitable replacements.

"The influence of Saudi Arabia? We'll see. I don't know. Right now it seems they have a big enough influence, very massive," said the German, as reported by Antara.

Since the beginning of the year, Saudi Arabian clubs have poured large funds into the world's top players including Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema, and N'Golo Kante.

"I think the worst thing is that the transfer market in Saudi Arabia is still open for three weeks longer. If I'm right, I hear something like that. Then, at least in Europe, that doesn't help. So UEFA and FIFA have to find a solution for that," he said.

"But, in the end, I don't know exactly what will happen now. It already affects us, of course. We have to learn to deal with it, but that's what we do," continued Klopp.

Meanwhile, Bayern Munich coach Thomas Tuchel also called the current situation the same as the Chinese Super League, where clubs from the country have also spent a lot of money bringing in football stars in the middle of the last decade.

"I'm just observing the situation, which is a very new situation," said Tuchel.

"It may be a little similar to the situation when China started their league. It's kind of a similar gold fever there and now there's the next league (Saudi Arabia) trying to become more popular, more famous, and trying to build a brand by recruiting many quality players and coaches."

"This is a completely new and too early situation for me to have a clear opinion. So I'm an observer, a surprised observer." he concluded.
