Son Heung-min Doesn't Want FOMO To Move To Saudi Arabia, Chooses To Stay At Tottenham Hotspur To Prove Yourself

JAKARTA - The phenomenon of English Premier League stars moving to Saudi Arabia does not seem to make Tottenham Hotspur's Son Heung-min join in. Son admits that he still wants to prove himself in the UK's highest competition.

Several Premier League stars have indeed decided to move to the Saudi Arabian League. After Cristiano Ronaldo, then followed N'Golo Kante, Ruben Neves, Roberto Firmino, Edouard Mendy, and Kalidou Koulibaly.

However, Son does not want to fear of missing out (FOMO) or an anxiety situation if he misses a moment. Although he is reportedly a target for the transfer of Saudi Arabian clubs.

The South Korean player promised to stay at Tottenham and revive his best form.

"Maybe if I wanted to go there (Saudi Arabia), I would go there, not here," Son said as quoted by the BBC via Antara.

"Many players go there (Saudi Arabia), which are very interesting. Of course money is also important, but I always dream of playing in the English Premier League and there are still many things to do," he said.

After being the top scorer with Tottenham in the 2021/22 season, Son's performance dropped dramatically last season. He was only able to score 10 goals when Tottenham finished eighth.

"Last season I suffered. It's not Sonny I know about. So I want to prove myself this season that I'm Sonny who everyone knows," concluded Son.

Currently, the 31-year-old is currently following Tottenham's pre-season tour preparations in Australia. He wants to return his performance to a high level as before.
