PT LIB Promises A Bigger Income For Liga 1 Clubs, The Source?

JAKARTA - Liga 1 clubs will get a much larger income in the 2023/2024 season competition. This was promised by the President Director of PT Liga Indonesia Baru (LIB) Ferry Paulus.

He said the income came from a fixed contribution and a variable contribution. What are the details like?

"Regularly, the series feels very bombastic. We make a different tier. There is a big contribution fixing from the past. There is a variable contribution. It contains competitive aspects of giving gifts to the club," said Ferry Paulus.

The variable contribution consists of sports merit or income based on the final standings ranking of the regular series and TV rating & sharing competitions.

"Number one of the best rankings will get a larger value up to the lowest rank. So that the financial coffers can really be said to be three times the fixed contributions (per month subsidies) obtained. So that next season, clubs will get extraordinary benefits," said Ferry, as quoted from Antara.

"There is also from the TV rating. We give appreciation to the gift club earlier. The value is very fantastic. What we have planned is that the revenue is returned to all clubs."

"From the commercialization aspect called rating and share, from the first rank to the 18th place, so that if the club is relegated, maybe say they can be fixed the same contribution as other clubs, plus a rating or share," he continued.

With this variable contribution, Ferry said each club will have the opportunity to get a significant increase in income. That is, continued Ferry, the club's income position has increased.

"Increasing is not small, but quite significant," said the man who was born on May 22, 1964.

Regarding the greater income for each League 1 club next season, Ferry said he was happy with the new policy because according to him this is the first in the history of the Indonesian league.

"It is possible that this is the first time in league history, this is the first time we have the advantage. With the correct signs, systems, increase our existing assets, we map all of them, so that good money can be coffered," said Ferry.

On the same occasion, the former Persija Jakarta boss also leaked one of the prizes for next season's competition, which amounted to IDR 5 billion. This amount is intended for the winning team of the championship series.

"The prize for the championship is IDR 5 billion", said Ferry.

The championship series format will be a continuation format for Liga 1 next season after 18 clubs after a full competition in the regular series round.

The Champions series contains the top four clubs from the regular series and the four clubs will be pitted against the home knock-out and away system to fight for the champion.

Furthermore, the 59-year-old man also explained a new update for Liga 1 2023/2024 in addition to having more income for each, one of which is the plan to implement the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) which will be implemented in February 2024.
