His Diamond Decorated Hat Is Thought To Be Worth IDR 14 Billion, Floyd Mayweather: It's Only IDR 441 Million

JAKARTA - Floyd Mayweather denied that his iconic TMT hat, which was decorated with diamonds, was priced at 1 million dollars (Rp. 14 billion). The boxing legend revealed the original price of the hat which turned out to be far from the audience's expectations.

This 46-year-old man was in the spotlight while attending Gervonta Davis' victory over Ryan Garcia in Las Vegas last week. Mayweather caught the eye for wearing a black hat decorated with diamonds.

There has been speculation that the object is worth millions of dollars. This speculation cannot be separated from Mayweather's nickname 'Money'.

Moreover, previously, he was said to be willing to spend the same value to buy a gold-plated chain necklace. It was bought by the star before his exhibition fight at The 02 against Aaron Chalmers.

However, Mayweather then provided clarification via the Instagram social media The man from America denied that in reality he still had to spend enough to have the hat.

While sharing a photo of himself wearing a hat, Mayweather wrote, "I don't know who started the rumors that my hat is worth a million dollars but it costs 30 thousand (dollars)," he wrote.

A fan then responded to Mayweather's statement saying: "30rb (dollars) with a hat is crazy."

Another wrote: 'Why are hats worth 30k? Why? Is it made of pure gold or what?'

While the others said: "It doesn't make me feel better."

The diamond-titled hat was apparently made by a jewelry artist based in Los Angeles, Shuki Diamonds.

The object labeled a fantastic price because the maker revealed that it took more than a month to work on it because he had to look for an "invisible talent" to finish the hat.

The artist said the manufacturing process involved making prints, sandblasting, and then polishing them before he gave them to Mayweather for free.

However, he believes he can sell the headgear for 5 million dollars (IDR 73.5 billion) at auction.

"There is only one in the world," Diamonds told TMZ. "This is history and this belongs to Floyd Mayweather."
