JAKARTA - In terms of motor vehicle exports, Toyota Indonesia recorded as the automotive company that achieved the most export performance by sending 139,581 units from January to June 2023.

According to records from PT Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indonesia (PT TMMIN), they have sent vehicles abroad with a figure of 56.2 percent of the total export of 248,004 units.

Bob Azam as Vice President Director of PT TMMI said that this achievement was a reference for his party to continue innovation by increasing competitiveness in terms of human resources (HR) by presenting vehicles that could support mobility needs.

"In the future, we are also trying to contribute to the Indonesian government's decarbonization target by reaching more consumers with various vehicle choices," said Bob Azam in his statement, Monday, July 31.

During the first half of 2023, SUVs such as Fortuner, Rush, and Raize have been sent as many as 78,102 units. Other types such as MPV have recorded exports totaling 49,767 units consisting of Kijang Innova Zenix, Avanza, and Veloz models.

For other models such as sedans and Low Cost Green Cars (LCGCs), such as Agya, have recorded shipments of up to 11,712 units in this period.

The sending of a number of vehicles abroad was triggered by a large number of requests. What's more, Toyota Indonesia has brought Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV) environmentally friendly vehicles to the Kijang Innova Zenix and Yariss Cross modes, making export figures increase.

"The enthusiasm and positive appreciation during January to June 2023 for the presence of a number of lines of Toyota Indonesia vehicles, including the new prima donna Kijang Innova Zenix and Yaris Cross which are also equipped with electrification variants, recorded total production figures for domestic and international market needs of up to more than 30,500 units," said Bob Azam.

Electrication vehicles have become their own attraction in meeting their needs and have a role in greening the environment. Toyota Indonesia also presents gasoline-engined vehicles that also have high fuel efficiency.

Bob Azam also added that his party will continue to hone its expertise in providing the needs of electrification vehicles such as batteries, as well as renewable energy, namely hydrogen, as well as Indonesia's role in producing environmentally friendly vehicles.

"We will also expand the export destination countries of the nation's human resources, especially to the growing African Region," said Bob Azam.
