TANGERANG - The plastic stall in Kampung Kongsi Baru RT03/01 Mekar Sari, Rajeg, Tangerang Regency caught fire. According to the officer's statement, the cause of the fire was suspected to be because of cigarette butts.

The head of the Tangerang Regency BPBD, Ujat Sudrajat, confirmed the incident. The incident occurred on Tuesday, November 21, in the morning.

"That's right, there was a fire. The object that caught fire was a plastic stall. 2500 meters of plastic stalls. The reason is suspected to be because of cigarette butts," Ujat said in a statement, Tuesday, November 21.

Ujat explained that the incident began when a witness named Yani saw the emergence of the fire from the plastic stall. On that basis, he tried to extinguish the fire. But unfortunately, at that time Yani was actually hit by a fire strike. Luckily Yani survived, he was only injured.

"Try to accommodate the fire, but instead it gets hit so that it gets burns," he said.

Residents who tried to help extinguish the fire tried to contact the Tangerang Regency fire department.

After receiving the report, 5 units of the Tangerang Regency Fire Department and dozens of personnel were deployed.

The current situation is still being handled. The loss reached Rp. 100 million. If there are no fatalities, only one victim will be burned," he concluded.
