The joint SAR team is searching for a two-year-old 11-month-old toddler who was swept away by the water in a ditch, in Manado, North Sulawesi.

Head of Operations for the Manado Search and Rescue Office (Basarnas) Jandry Paendong said the rain that flushed Manado City caused a toddler aged 2 years and 11 months to be swept away by the water in a ditch.

At that time, the victim, Marques, with the address South Karombasan Lingkungan II Manado, took a rain shower with his brother.

Without parental supervision, the victim and his brother took a rain shower around his house.

"At that time it was raining very hard, so the water in the ditch increased and the current was so strong that the victim fell into a ditch and was immediately carried away by the current," he said, quoted by ANTARA, Monday, November 20.

The search has been carried out by a joint SAR team such as Basarnas, Police, TNI, RAPI, local communities and other potential SAR.

The search was carried out until 19.00 WITA, but the victim had not been found.

During the search, the Basarnas team conducted a search by diving on the outskirts around the Megamas area but the victims have not been found. "The joint SAR team will continue the search tomorrow, Tuesday by walking down the ditch that has been passed to the beach. We will maximize the entire joint SAR team tomorrow," said Jandry.
