3 Brimbob Battalion Prepared For The Security Of The 2024 Election In Southeast Sulawesi

SULTRA - A total of three Pioneer battalions and the Gegana Detachment of the Southeast Sulawesi Police Mobile Brigade Unit (Sultra) were deployed to secure the 2024 General Election in 17 regencies and cities throughout Southeast Sulawesi.

The Commander of the Brimob Unit of the Southeast Sulawesi Police, Kombes Pol. Sugianto Marweki, explained that apart from personnel, the main equipment in the election security operation was also prepared to prevent mass disturbances in order to create a conducive situation in society.

"The Brimob's job is to tackle security disturbances with high intensity, including crimes organized with firearms, then mass riots, anarchic actions to other police tasks," he said in Kendari, Southeast Sulawesi, Monday, November 13, confiscated by Antara.

Kombes Pol Sugianto Marweki who is also the Head of the Regional Operations Task Force also emphasized that his party had prepared a tactical unit for operational control assistance (BKO) to all police in maintaining security.

The Brimob Unit of the Southeast Sulawesi Regional Police in the operation to secure the 2024 General Election contained Battalion A consisting of 3 companies based in Kendari provincial capital, Battalion B in Batauga, South Buton Regency as many as 2 companies and Battalion C as many as 2 companies based in North Kolaka Regency.

Meanwhile, the Gegana Detachment is also based in Kendari consisting of a subden bomb disposal, a Subden of terror resistance in the prosecution of terrorism crimes that use firearms and bombs.
