Midwives At West Kalimantan's Palm Oil Plantation Died After Being Raped, The Perpetrator Was A 23-year-old Man Arrested In Banten

The Kapuas Hulu Resort Police (Polres) arrested Nafficients (23), a rapist that led to the murder of the victim Hety Karmila, a midwife who served in an oil palm plantation, Nanga Seberuang Village, Semitau District, Kapuas Hulu, West Kalimantan (West Kalimantan).

"The perpetrator fled to the island of Java and was arrested in Pandeglang, Banten Province," said Kapuas Hulu Police Chief AKBP Hendrawan in Putussibau, Kapuas Hulu, Tuesday, November 8, confiscated by Antara.

Hendrawan said the perpetrator was desperate to kill the victim for fear of reporting the victim to the police for the rape by the perpetrator.

The disclosure of the murder case began when the body of victim Hety Karmila was found in the room where he lived in the Pondok II housing PT Belian Estate, an oil palm plantation in Nanga Seberuang Village, Semitau District, Kapuas Hulu, at around 12.10 WIB, Monday, October 23.

According to Hendrawan, the victim's death was considered unnatural. The police then conducted an investigation by examining a number of witnesses and conducting an investigation at the scene of the case (TKP) and a post-mortem on the victim's body.

From the results of the investigation, the perpetrator who is an employee of an oil palm plantation company in Nanga Seberuang Village, Semitau District.

Because, after the discovery of the victim's body, one of the employees was not there and from the results of the crime scene, a necklace belonging to the perpetrator was found in the victim's room.

"When the investigation was carried out, it was found that the perpetrator had fled to Java Island in the Banten area, so the pursuit and arrest were carried out," said Hendrawan.

From the results of the examination, the perpetrator admitted that he had raped and killed the victim.

The perpetrator admitted that he entered the victim's house through the back door, when he entered the victim's room he was fast asleep on his stomach.

Hendrawan said that at that time the perpetrator immediately strangled the victim from behind, once the victim was weak, the perpetrator turned around and raped the unconscious victim.

When he was about to run away, it turned out that the victim was aware and looked at the perpetrator who turned out to be familiar with each other.

Out of fear, the perpetrator finally strangled the victim again until the victim died.

"The victim fought back and pulled the victim's necklace and scratched the perpetrator's cheek, until finally the victim was helpless and died," said Hendrawan.

Against the perpetrators, charged with Article 351 paragraph (3) of the Criminal Code or murder initiated by other criminal events as referred to in Article 339 of the Criminal Code, subsidiary to murder as referred to in Article 338 of the Criminal Code and rape as referred to in Article 285 of the Criminal Code with a maximum threat of life imprisonment.
