When inaugurating the GTN Business and Human Rights, Mahfud symbolically pinned a pin to Menkumham Yasonna Laoly as Chairman of the GTN Business and Human Rights, Director General (Dirjen) HAM Dhana Putra, and Deputy V Chief of Presidential Staff (KSP) Jaleswari Pramodhawardani.

In his remarks, Mahfud explained that the formation of GTN and regional task force (GTD) is a special thing mandated in Presidential Decree No. 60 of 2023. With the formation of the task force, said Mahfud, it is hoped that the coordination of the implementation of the Presidential Regulation of Business and Human Rights Stranas.

"With the formation of task forces, both at the national and regional levels, it is hoped that there will be coordination, monitoring (supervision), and evaluation of business and human rights actions, so that they can be carried out systematically, effectively, efficiently, and measurably," he said.

Mahfud asked the Ministry of Law and Human Rights to immediately convey to all governors in Indonesia to immediately accelerate the formation of GTD Business and Human Rights.

"The government through the Ministry of Law and Human Rights should convey to all governors to immediately accelerate the formation of Business and Human Rights Task Force in areas where the mechanism and work procedures will be regulated more technically through the Regulation of the Minister of Law and Human Rights," he said.

Mahfud also invited all parties to jointly be committed to realizing human rights-friendly businesses and human rights-based public services in Indonesia.

"Let's work together to realize respect, protection, promotion, enforcement, and fulfillment of human rights in Indonesia and I invite all components of the nation to play an active role in making it happen so that we become a nation that is more civilized, resilient, and advanced in the framework of the Republic of Indonesia," he added.
