JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is investigating the purchase of jewelry by the former Head of Makassar Customs Andhi Pramono. It is suspected that he bought the item using the proceeds from receiving gratuities during his tenure.

Head of the News Section, Ali Fikri, said that the investigation was carried out by examining the representative's jewellery, waryela as a witness on Thursday, November 2 yesterday.

"The witness was present and his knowledge was investigated, among others, related to the alleged purchase of jewelry by the suspect AP using money from receiving gratuities," Ali told reporters in a written statement, Friday, November 3.

Ali did not specify the type of jewelry that Andhi bought using fraudulent practice money. However, the investigator has pocketedEE's statement to make the case clear.

The KPK previously detained the former Head of Makassar Customs andhi Pramono. He is suspected of receiving gratuities in the form of a fee after becoming a broker for export-import entrepreneurs.

To make this acceptance, Andhi allegedly used an account belonging to his trusted person who was a businessman. They became nominees so that the gift to him was not detected.

It didn't stop there, Andhi was also suspected of committing a crime of money laundering (TPPU). This allegation arose because he disguised the purchase of assets using the names of other people, including his mother-in-law.

In this case, Andhi said that the KPK received a fee of up to Rp28 billion and the amount could continue to grow. The money was then purchased for various purposes such as diamonds, insurance policies, to houses in the Pejaten area, South Jakarta worth Rp20 billion.

In addition, he is also suspected of owning a collection of luxury cars and has now been confiscated. The three cars are Hummer type H3, model SUV, silver and 1 ignition key; one unit of the Morris Mini brand car, sedan model, red along with 1 ignition key; and one Toyota brand car, roadster type, red passenger car model along with 2 ignition keys.
