The Claims Of The Three Defendants Of Corruption BTS Kominfo Will Be Read On Monday Next Week

The Head of the Attorney General's Office, Ketut Sumedana, said the trial of reading the charges against three other defendants in the alleged 4G BTS corruption case at the Ministry of Communication and Information (Kominfo) was scheduled for Monday, October 30 at the Central Jakarta District Court Corruption Court.

"The next trial will be held on October 30, 2023 against three other defendants, namely the defendant Galumbang Menak Simanjuntak, the defendant Irwan Hermawan, and the defendant Mukti Ali," said Ketut, October 26.

The three defendants are the President Director of PT Mora Telematika Indonesia Gaholeng Menak Simanjuntak (GMS), Commissioner of PT Solitchmedia Synergy Irwan Hermawan (IH), and from PT Huwaei Technology Investment Mukti Ali (MA).

Previously, the public prosecutor (JPU) had read out the charges against three defendants in the alleged corruption case of BTS 4G Bakti Kominfo, namely former Kominfo minister Johnny G. Plate, former president director of Bakti Kominfo Anang Achmad Latif (AAL), and former Human Development (Hudev) expert staff at the University of Indonesia Yohan Suryanto (YS).

The prosecutor demanded that the defendant Anang Achmad Latif be sentenced to 18 years in prison and pay a fine of Rp. 1 billion, subsidiary to imprisonment for 12 months. Then, Anang was also charged with additional criminal penalties in the form of paying compensation of Rp. 5 billion, subsidiary to nine months in prison.

Then, the defendant Johnny G Plate was sentenced to 15 years in prison for committing a criminal act of corruption together, as regulated and threatened with criminal penalties Article 2 paragraph (1) in conjunction with Article 18 of Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 31 of 1999 concerning Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption, as amended by Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 20 of 2001 concerning Amendments to Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 31 of 1999 concerning Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph (1) of the 1st Criminal Code.

"The prosecutor demanded that the defendant Johnny G. Plate be sentenced to 15 years in prison and pay a fine of Rp. 1 billion, subsidiary to imprisonment for one year. Then, additional punishment in the form of compensation of Rp. 17 billion, subsidiary to imprisonment for 7.5 years," said Ketut.

Finally, the defendant Yohan Suryanto was sentenced to six years in prison for committing a criminal act of corruption together, as regulated and threatened with criminal penalties Article 2 paragraph (1) in conjunction with Article 18 of Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 31 of 1999 concerning Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption as amended by Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 20 of 2001 concerning Amendments to Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 31 of 1999 concerning Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph (1) of the 1st Criminal Code.

The prosecutor also demanded that Yohan pay a fine of Rp. 250 million, subsidiary to imprisonment for three months, as well as an additional penalty in the form of payment of compensation of Rp. 388,993,400 or subsidiary to imprisonment for three months.
