Stumbled On The Case Of Extortion Of The Chairman Of The KPK, Kombes Irwan Anwar Is Still The Head Of Semarang Police

Central Java Police stated that Kombes Irwan Anwar was still serving as the Semarang Police Chief, although he was included in the vortex of the alleged extortion case carried out by the leadership of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) against former Minister of Agriculture (Mentan) Syahrul Yasin Limpo or SYL.

Kombes Irwan Anwar was included in the vortex of the case because he was examined as a witness by the Corruption Sub-Directorate of the Special Criminal Investigation Directorate of the Polda Metro Jaya.

"Still (serving the Chief of Police)," said Head of Public Relations of the Central Java Police, Kombes Stefanus Satake Bayu Setianto, Tuesday, October 10.

The examination of Kombes Irwan Anwar did not interfere with his performance as Semarang Police Chief. Thus, it is still trusted to sit on the position.

However, regarding the case or involvement of Kombes Irwan Anwar so that he was examined as a witness, Satake Bayu said he did not know about it. The Central Java Police is said to be still waiting for information and developments in the handling of the case.

"It is true that the person concerned was summoned to the Metro Police, the essence of the examination is that we have not been informed from the Metro Police, we are still waiting for the progress," he said.

Previously, IPW Chairman Sugeng Teguh Santoto said the Semarang Police Chief had an important role in the alleged extortion case because it was quite close to the figures of Firli and SYL.

His closeness with Firli Bahuri was because he had been his subordinate when the KPK chairman was still the NTB Police Chief.

Meanwhile, the close relationship with Syahrul Yasin Limpo is because his wife, Andi Tenri Gusti Hanum Utari Natassa, is the nephew of the former Minister of Agriculture.

"If I hear from the sources I got because he knew Firli as his supervisor at the NTB Regional Police when Firli was the Kapolda. And also he is SYL's son-in-law," he said.

Kombes Irwan Anwar plans to be investigated again regarding the alleged extortion case carried out by the KPK leadership against Syahrul Yasin Limpo or SYL which has now gone up to the investigation stage.

However, it has not been stated when Kombes Irwan Anwar will be questioned. It was only emphasized that the re-examination of the Semarang Police Chief was carried out as the status of the case was increased to the investigation stage.

"There will be an agenda for summoning the person concerned to be questioned as a witness," said Director of Special Criminal Investigation at the Metro Jaya Police, Kombes Ade Safri Simanjuntak.
