Based In Papua, Vice President Ma'ruf Amin Will Meet Human Rights Activists

JAYAPURA - Vice President (Vice President) of the Republic of Indonesia Ma'ruf Amin filled the second day of office in Papua by holding a meeting with a number of human rights activists (HAM) at the Papua Governor's Office, Tuesday, October 10.

The Secretariat of the Vice President in Jayapura, Papua, informed the meeting at 11.00 WIT, the Vice President accompanied by the Indonesian Minister of Health Budi Gunadi Sadikin, Deputy Minister of Home Affairs John Wempi Wetipo and Acting Governor of Papua Ridwan Ruikutun.

Special Staff for Communication and Information as well as Spokesperson for Vice President Masduki Baidlowi have not detailed representatives of human rights activists who will attend the Papua Governor's Office, Jalan Soa Siu Dok 2, Jayapura.

However, Masduki explained that the Vice President had the capacity as Chairman of the Steering Committee for the Special Economic Acceleration of Papua (BP3OKP) at the meeting, which was responsible for accelerating the welfare development of the Papuan people.

In addition, said Masduki, the Vice President will also dig up actual information from human rights activists, including aspirations that come from armed criminal groups (KKB).

"I think that so far, the agency (BP3OKP) has absorbed this aspiration. Likewise, human rights activists will bring the aspirations of the KKB," he said.

Masduki said that the Vice President would absorb all the aspirations that emerged from the meeting because Papua received priority in the government's efforts to prosper the local community.

All aspirations that come from the Papuan people, said Masduki, have the opportunity to be realized while supported by the financial capacity of the state and within the framework of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI).

"For the Vice President, the important thing is the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia, nothing else. Actually, it's limited to that, for the Vice President, it's okay, so far, the basic principle," he said.

The agenda for the second day of the Vice President's office in Papua was also concurrent with a meeting with leaders of the indigenous Papuan employers' association.

The agenda for the second day closed with the Coordination Meeting of the Entrepreneurship and Development Agency (BPP) regarding the latest information on the readiness of planning and implementation of the construction of a new provincial government infrastructure center for four autonomous regions (DOB) in Papua.
