MRT Development Progress HI-City Roundabout Reach 26.62 Percent

JAKARTA - The construction progress of the Jakarta MRT phase 2A line reached 26.62 percent as of September 25 2023. Phase 2A of the Jakarta MRT will connect Bundaran HI Station to Kota for around 5.8 kilometers and consists of seven underground stations, namely Thamrin, Monas, Harmoni, Sawah Besar, Mangga Besar, Glodok, and Kota.

On the official MRT Jakarta Instagram account, it was stated that construction work on CP 201 which includes Thamrin and Monas Stations had reached 62.81 percent progress.

"Meanwhile for CP 202 (Harmoni Station—Sawah Besar—Mangga Besar) after officially starting on July 27 2022, as of September 25 2023 it has reached 18.73 percent", wrote the account @mrtjkt, Friday, October 6.

Then, after signing the contract package (contract package) CP 203 (Glodok and City Station) on April 20 2021, work has begun and is running according to schedule. As of September 25 2023, development has reached 39.60 percent.

Meanwhile, the procurement of CP 205, which includes railway and rail systems, has been carried out using international competitive bidding. The call for tenders was made on 25 August 2022. Market sounding has been carried out for CP 206 rolling stock (ratangga) and the number of trains has been adjusted from 14 trains to seven trains.

The plan is that the call for tender will be made in Q1 this year. Meanwhile, CP 207 automatic fare collection (payment system), call for tenders will be made in June 2023.

Phase 2A is divided into two segments, namely segment one HI Roundabout—Harmoni which is targeted for completion in 2027, and segment two Harmoni—City which is targeted for completion in 2029.

Different from phase 1, phase 2A was built simultaneously by developing the station area with the concept of a transit-oriented area (transit oriented development).

"Development with this concept not only prepares the Jakarta MRT station infrastructure, but also the area as a combination of transit and human functions, activities, buildings and public spaces which will optimize access to public transportation so that it can support passenger carrying capacity", he explained.

Meanwhile, the construction plan for phase 2B of the Jakarta MRT, which continues from Kota Kota Station to West Ancol Depot, is still in the feasibility study stage.
