Police Investigate Death Of Boxing Athlete From Bondowoso After Competing

SURABAYA - The death of a boxing athlete named Farhat Mika Rahel Riyanto, has caught the attention of the Jombang Police, East Java. Currently, the police are investigating the death of the athlete from Bondowoso.

"We are currently collecting information for investigation," said Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Jombang Police, AKP Aldo Febrianto, Tuesday, September 12.

Aldo said that one of the statements taken by the police was from the hospital who treated the victim. From this hospital, said Aldo, later the police will get information related to the cause of death of the victim.

"So we collect information from the hospital regarding the cause of death of the victim," he said.

Not only from the hospital, Aldo continued, the collection of information was also carried out from various parties who were considered competent for the incident.

"Anyone, that's it later. What is clear is that we will ask for information from a number of parties," he said.

According to him, there has been no report from the family. But the police are still investigating.

Farhat Mika Rahel Riyanto, a boxing athlete from Bondowoso, died after competing Monday (11/9) in a boxing match at the East Java VIII/2023 Provincial Sports Week (Porprov) event in Jombang, East Java.

Farhat was declared dead on Tuesday (12/9) early in the morning after receiving treatment at a local hospital. In this incident, Farhat was diagnosed with bleeding in the brain.
