Bawaslu Ensures That His Subordinates In Papua Are Not Affiliated By KKB, The National Police Headquarters Will Explain

Chairman of Bawaslu Rahmat Bagja revealed that his subordinates, members of the Central Papua Bawaslu with the initials GT (30) were not part of sympathizers of the armed criminal group (KKB).

This was conveyed by Bagja when asked by the media crew during the forum entitled "How is the progress of the case of the Central Papua Bawaslu member who is suspected of being the KKB (sympathizer)?" at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Tuesday, September 12.

"Yes, we will convey it later," said Bagja.

When asked when the information was delivered, Bagja stated that the National Police Headquarters had the authority to clarify the case.

"There is an answer from friends from the National Police Headquarters. There has been an answer from the National Police Headquarters, we will tell it later, because we are still reading the whole thing first," he said.

The National Police Chief has given the data regarding this matter. Listyo Sigit Prabowo. Even so, he continued, the results of the examination from BIN had not yet been released. "BIN hasn't yet," said Bagja.

Bagja reiterated that GT was not a KKB sympathizer. "No, yes," he said.

Previously, Bagja admitted that he was clarifying public reports regarding the alleged member of the Central Papua Bawaslu with the initials GT sympathizers of the Papuan KKB.

"We are clarifying to the person concerned (GT)," said Bagja, Wednesday, August 23, as quoted by Antara.

According to him, GT must be given the right to be responsible for straightening out the news that he is a KKB sympathizer. Not only that, this man who was born in Medan is currently checking with the State Intelligence Agency (BIN) and the local police.

"Is the person concerned really indicated, including the Free Papua Organization (OPM)? This must also be clear, we should not accuse OPM as well," he said.

Bagja revealed that if GT is later indicated as a KKB sympathizer, Bawaslu will report this to the Election Organizers Honorary Council (DKPP) to be dismissed.

"We will submit to the DKPP to dismiss the person concerned," said Bagja.

When asked about the selection process to become a member of the district/city Bawaslu, he explained that there are so many series of tests that must be faced.

He mentioned that candidates for district/city Bawaslu members must face a "computer assisted test" (CAT). In this test, continued Bagja, there is a matter of national insight.
