Prosecutors Allegedly Extorting CPNS Of The NTB Prosecutor's Office-Kemenkumhan Sued 3 Years In Prison

The public prosecutor (JPU) has demanded that the defendant Eka Putra Raharjo as a prosecutor be suspected of receiving gratuities in the selection of prospective civil servants (CPNS) to be sentenced to 3 years in prison. Prosecutor Eka served in the West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) region.

"Requesting that the panel of judges impose a sentence of three years in prison and a fine of Rp. 150 million, subsidiary to three months," said Public Prosecutor Agung Kuntowicaksono reading out the charges against the defendant Eka during a trial at the Corruption Court at the Mataram District Court, NTB, Friday, September 8, which was confiscated by Antara.

The prosecutor also asked the defendant Eka to remain in custody and determined that all evidence was returned to the prosecutor.

"Asking the panel of judges to determine that all evidence is returned to the prosecutor to be used in other cases," he said.

The prosecutor demanded that on the basis of the defendant's actions be proven to have violated Article 11 of Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning the eradication of criminal acts of corruption as amended by Law no. 20 of 2001 in conjunction with Article 421 of the Criminal Code jo. Article 55 paragraph (1) 1st of the Criminal Code jo. Article 65 paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code in accordance with the second indictment.

From the description of the indictment, the defendant Eka allegedly used his position as a functional prosecutor to extort a number of CPNS participants who participated in the selection of the prosecutor's office and the Ministry of Law and Human Rights of NTB for the period 2020 to 2021.
